சர்க்காரியா கமிசனும் நமது எம்ஜிஆரும்**
எம்ஜிஆர் 1977 இல் ஆட்சிக்கு வந்ததும் முதலில் அவர் சர்க்காரியா கமிசன் மீதுதான் மிகவும் அக்கறை கொண்டார்.
இதில் கவனிக்க வேண்டிய விசயம் என்னவென்றால் சர்க்காரியா கமிசனே கலைஞர் மீதான வீராணம் திட்டம் உட்பட முக்கிய ஊழல் குற்றச்சாட்டுகளை ஒத்துக்கொள்ளவில்லை. அப்போதைய முதல்மந்திரி எம்ஜிஆர் 1977 நவம்பர் 15 இல் அப்போதைய அட்வகேட் ஜெனரல் V.P. ராமனிடம் சர்க்காரியா கமிசன் தொடர்பாக அவரது ஆலோசனையை கேட்கிறார். அதற்கு ராமன் வெறும் வழிமுறைகள் கடைபிடிக்கப்படாமை ( impropriety) என்ற ஒரு விசயத்தை வைத்து கலைஞர் மீது கிரிமினல் குற்ற நடவடிக்கை எடுப்பது என்பது சாத்தியமும் அல்ல எனவும் அதற்கு பரிந்துரை செய்வதும் இயலாது எனவும் பதிலாக தெரிவித்து விட்டார்.
ஆனால் ஹெலிகாப்டர் மூலம் பூச்சி மருந்து அடித்தது தொடர்பானஎம்ஜிஆரின் குற்றச்சாட்டு வ.எண் 11(B) க்கு மட்டும் நடவடிக்கைக்கு பரிந்துரைத்தார்.
ஆனால் சிபிஐ ஆல் கையாளப்பட்ட அந்த வழக்கும் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டு போதிய ஆதாரம் இல்லாததால் பின்னர் மத்திய அரசாலேயே வாபஸ் பெறப்பட்டது.
இதுதான் சர்க்காரியா கமிசன் தொடர்பாக நடந்தது. ஆனால் கடந்த 40 வருடங்களாக இந்த நீர்த்து போன உப்பு சப்பில்லாத சர்க்காரியா கமிசன் கதையை வைத்தே கலைஞரை ஊழல்வாதியாக தொடர்ந்து பிரட்சாரம் செய்து வருகிறார்கள்.
ஒரே பொய்யை 2G மாதிரி தொடர்ந்து சொல்ல சொல்ல உண்மை போலவே மனதில் பதிந்து விடும்.
Even the Commission did not accept the major charges including that on Veeranam scheme. The then Chief Minister MGR sought the opinion of the then Advocate General, Mr. V.P. Raman. On November 15, 1977, the AG said it was ``neither advisable nor possible'' to launch prosecution on mere impropriety. Then again, in October 24, 1979, the AG said ``except the allegation 11(B) relating to aerial spraying the others cannot be successfully perused in a criminal prosecution.'' Even the spraying case, which was handled by the CBI, was withdrawn by the Union Government.
The Government could not act on the Commission's recommendations since there was nothing significant in them. Hence, after the DMK came to power, it dropped the charges on November 23, 1989, based on the advise of the then AG, tendered on November 15, 1989
